北海道千歳市出身。東京音楽大学を卒業後、渡米。学費 全額給付の奨学金を得てボーリング・グリーン州立大学 大学院演奏専門家コースを修了、同大学院修士課程を経て、ペンシルバニア州立大学で学ぶ。2000年Harvey G. Phillipsコンクール第1位、2003年ソルトレイクシティに於いて 開催されたMTNAコンペティション金管楽器部門で 全米第1位を受賞。京都国際音楽学生フェスティバル、





Ryoichi Tamaki joined the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra in 2004.  Besides orchestral work, he has been teaching at Sapporo Otani University and the Hokkaido University of Education as an adjunct instructor, and also been hosting an annual Music Camp as a chairperson of Hokkaido Euphonium and Tuba Association since 2007.

He is from Chitose, Hokkaido.  After graduation from Tokyo College of Music (BM), he studied at Bowling Green State University to finish a Certificate Program with full scholarship.  He then transferred to Pennsylvania State University for additional study. He studied with Velvet Brown, Fritz Kaenzig, Chitate Kagawa, Koji Suzuki, and Shinsuke Tanaka.

He is a first prize winner of the Harvey G. Phillips Competition (Sapporo) of 2000, and MTNA competition (Salt Lake City, Utah) 2003. He played for the Kyoto International Music Festival Orchestra 1999, Pacific Music Festival (PMF) 2002, and National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) 2003. At Sapporo Art Festival held in 2015, his solo recital was awarded grand prize.
